Industry News: Oklahoma LTC Training Requirement Discontinued

Mutual of Omaha Update for Oklahoma Producers

Effective immediately, Mutual of Omaha has discontinued its Long-Term Care (LTC) producer training requirement in Oklahoma.

As a result, Oklahoma-specific LTC training is no longer required for LTC business written in Oklahoma.

What This Means for Producers

  • Producers selling LTC insurance in Oklahoma do not need to complete Oklahoma-specific LTC training.

  • Oklahoma LTC training cannot be used to satisfy LTC training or reciprocity requirements in another state.

  • Producers selling LTC in other states remain responsible for meeting that state’s applicable training requirements, including determining whether reciprocity is accepted.

Key Takeaway

Before submitting LTC business, always confirm that the applicable training requirements have been met for the state where the policy is being sold.

Because Oklahoma no longer requires LTC training, completing Oklahoma LTC training will not establish LTC training eligibility or satisfy reciprocity requirements in other states.
