Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) are one of the tools Medicare Advantage plans use to support members and spot chronic conditions early. Whether an HRA happens in a member's home or in a clinical office, it gives the plan and the provider a fuller picture of the member's physical, behavioral, and mental health needs, medications, health risks, and environmental factors.
CMS considers HRAs a best practice for all Medicare Advantage plans and their enrollees, and in many cases CMS requires plans to conduct them, according to AHIP.
