Highmark New York: 2027 Commissions and Roswell
Which Western and Northeastern NY plans pay in 2027, and where Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is in network
A Buffalo-area client asks whether they can keep seeing their oncologist at Roswell Park, and the online directory says no. For two Highmark plans, that answer is wrong, and knowing that could make the sale.
Highmark has two big updates for Western New York (WNY) and Northeastern New York (NENY): commissions are coming back on select Medicare Advantage plans, and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center will be in network on four plans.
Commissions Return on Five Plans
Starting with January 1, 2027 effective dates, Highmark will pay commissions on eligible Medicare Advantage enrollments in WNY and NENY on these plans only: Freedom Valor PPO (WNY), Senior Blue 601 HMO (WNY), Community Blue Medicare HMO Signature (WNY), Community Blue Medicare HMO Distinct (WNY), and Senior Blue 652 HMO (NENY).
New business remains non-commissionable on Community Blue Medicare HMO 651 and Community Blue Medicare HMO Standard in WNY. Highmark says it will keep monitoring the market and share updates as needed.
Commissions are paid at the 2027 Fair Market Value (FMV) rates:
Roswell Park Network
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center will be in network on Freedom Valor PPO, Senior Blue 601 HMO, Community Blue Medicare HMO 651, and Community Blue Medicare HMO Standard. It will continue to be out of network on Community Blue Medicare HMO Signature and Community Blue Medicare HMO Distinct.
