NEWS: UnitedHealthcare Announces August Product Updates
UnitedHealthcare is rolling out several TriTerm Medical, AdvantageGuard, and CriticalGuard product updates effective August 21, 2026, creating new product availability and expanded Guaranteed Issue opportunities for eligible clients.
Agents with active quotes or in-progress applications should review the changes and take action before the updates take effect.
TriTerm Medical Updates
Several TriTerm Medical changes are coming August 21, including new plan availability and updates to existing offerings.
New State Offerings
South Carolina: Launch of SC Association Group EPO through the FACT Association, offering coverage for 36 months less one day with access to the UnitedHealthcare Choice network.
West Virginia: Launch of new Value plans offering nearly three years of coverage with access to the UnitedHealthcare Choice network.

Important: Active quotes for impacted plans must be submitted before August 21, 2026 to avoid interruption.
Expanded Guaranteed Issue Opportunities
UnitedHealthcare is also expanding Guaranteed Issue eligibility for AdvantageGuard and CriticalGuard, providing additional opportunities to help eligible clients access supplemental coverage.
AdvantageGuard
Beginning August 21, Guaranteed Issue will be available for applicants ages 75–79 in most states, provided selected benefits meet GI minimum requirements.
CriticalGuard
A new $5,000 Guaranteed Issue option will be available for applicants ages 75–79 in most states.
State availability: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland require state approval for certain changes, so availability may occur after August 21. Agents should verify availability through their quoting tools.
What Agents Should Do Now
If you have active quotes or started applications involving impacted TriTerm Medical plans, review and submit eligible applications before August 21.
