NEWS: Ameritas Announces Upcoming Individual Dental Rate Release

Prepare for Open Enrollment with updated rates and added opportunities to help clients transition to individual dental coverage.

Ameritas has announced an upcoming rate release for its PrimeStar® and Ameritas partner individual dental plans following the 2026 annual rate review.

Updated Rates Coming September 29

Updated rates will be available on MyPlan and Ameritas partner shopping websites beginning September 29, 2026.

While rates are changing, dental and vision plan designs and product brochures will remain unchanged. Next-day effective dates and benefits will also continue to be available on most products in most states.

Ameritas’ provider network continues to expand, with access to more than 734,000 access points, including more than 150,000 unique providers across 103,000 unique locations. Members can also receive in-network savings when receiving care from participating providers in Mexico.

Help Clients Transition with Credit for Prior Coverage

As Open Enrollment approaches, clients may be looking for individual dental coverage that provides continuity as they transition from one plan to another. Credit for Prior Coverage (CPC) may help eligible clients avoid waiting periods and access their dental benefits sooner, with the possibility of increased coinsurance right away.

To qualify for CPC, clients must:

• Have maintained a previous active dental insurance plan for at least 12 months

• Have a previous dental plan that has not been terminated for more than 60 days

• Provide the prior carrier’s name, policy number, and termination date

CPC can be a valuable resource when discussing individual dental options with clients who are moving from existing coverage.
