Your clients can keep their CHRISTUS doctors, but they'll need a new plan for 2027

CHRISTUS Health Plan began sending member communications on October 1, so your CHRISTUS Medicare Advantage clients may already be calling with the same worried question: do I lose my doctors? The answer is no, and calling them first with that answer and a 2027 plan keeps the conversation with you.

CHRISTUS Health Plan will discontinue its Medicare Advantage plans in Texas and New Mexico effective December 31, 2026. The decision is limited to the Medicare Advantage product and does not affect CHRISTUS Health Plan's other insurance products or CHRISTUS Health's broader care operations.

Your Clients Can Keep Their CHRISTUS Providers

This change does not affect CHRISTUS hospitals, physicians, or services. Medicare patients will continue to have access to CHRISTUS providers through Traditional Medicare and other Medicare Advantage plans accepted in CHRISTUS markets. For clients who are attached to their CHRISTUS doctors, that gives you a clear starting point: find a 2027 plan that keeps those providers in network.

What to Do Now

Find your CHRISTUS clients. Review your book for clients enrolled in a CHRISTUS Health Plan Medicare Advantage plan in Texas or New Mexico.

Help them choose a 2027 plan during AEP. Every one of these clients will need new coverage for 2027. Walk them through their options during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 through December 7, 2026, so their new plan is in place on January 1.

Check their providers first. Before recommending a plan, confirm which Medicare Advantage plans their CHRISTUS doctors and hospitals accept.
